To all employees, customers and suppliers,
As we continue to monitor the ongoing situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to assure you that the safety and well being of our employees and their families as well as the customers, suppliers and communities we work in are our top priority.
On March 23, 2020 Premier Ford and Mayor Tory had news conferences that called for immediate COVID-19 changes and protocols for the public. This included an order for all nonessential businesses to shut down and The City of Toronto declared a state of emergency.
Almon provides critical services for the operation and maintenance of roadways and bridges throughout the province and provide critical support for our clients who are engaged in construction activities to infrastructure projects as well as companies with emergency response requirements on roadways.
The following link provides a list of Essential Workplaces.

Almon is able to stay open during this time. Keeping with our company mandate to provide a safer working environment and do our part to limit exposure while physical distancing, Almon will be working with clients and suppliers to limit our exposure during the shut-down. This means that we are contacting all clients that we have contracts with or are providing services to in order to align our approach with theirs on an individual basis. A similar approach is being used with suppliers delivering products. We want to ensure that anyone going to a customer site or coming to our location is aware of the protocols both companies are using to protect all parties.
We will be fulfilling all our contractual obligations. For projects that are proceeding forward as an essential service we have crews and services available. For the projects and services that are on hold during the shut down we will be able to provide emergency response if needed. We expect that the work schedules and deadlines on some day-to-day maintenance activities will change as a result of projects being put on hold and will do our best to work with clients to provide adequate resources to complete work when we are able to resume normal operations.
This is in addition to the measures we are continuing including but not limited to the following:
We kindly remind everyone that we are limiting access to the office during this time including having employees work from home where possible. We have also implemented that work tickets are signed by the driver and copies are sent electronically to help limit contact with client personnel on work sites.
Our employees, customers and suppliers all work together to help complete our work and our priority is to foster an environment where all can continue to operate while maintaining everyone’s health and safety.
We are working with a reduced workforce during this time as well and are taking measures to keep crews separated as much as possible.
We will continue to disinfect and clean common touch surfaces more regularly in the coming weeks. The situation is fluid and we will continue to adapt and change protocols to keep employees, customers and the communities we work in healthy and safe.
Thank you again for your cooperation and understanding and we will continue to provide updates as we receive them and the situation progresses.
We are all in this together and by everyone doing their part, we look forward to being back to full operation once it is safe to do so.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this time!
